Taking the most valued and beautiful burrs of the Elm we create our perfectly proportioned quaich. At the handle creating stage we hand cut into the handle to inlay the Sterling silver handles, each of the two handles have different outer shapes inlaid into the Elm, this is a nod to the endless unique ‘fingerprint’ shapes in the grain. It is also the catalyst that I can add as the relationship between the grain and the contour lines of our Etive design cast into the silver.
